a new year (& one year in Ghana)
Happy New Year, friends!
This month marks my first year of being in Ghana! There have been ups & downs in the adjustment process of life and ministry in Ghana, but God has been so generous in His goodness and care for me. I can’t thank you enough for your prayers over me this past year.
I had a memorable first Christmas in Ghana. We celebrated with the kids in Nyankpala with a holiday party (pictured above) and I took some time off in the Kpandai area to be with Enoch’s family. I feel very blessed to be a part of some new holiday traditions, such as a goat roast on New Years and worshipping into the New Year!
I also traveled to two Village School Ministry locations and met with some of the school coordinators and community leaders. Visiting with the families from these communities was an encouragement and blessing to me, reminding me of the actual men, women & children in these communities we are serving.
I wish I could share the various things I’m processing from my first year in ministry in Ghana, ranging from my struggles with cultural & lifestyle adjustments to the joys of intentionally sharing and living life in community or even what it’s like to share the message of Jesus in a predominantly Islamic or traditional community. God willing, I look forward to the opportunities of sharing more with you on a personal level in the months ahead.
Blessings to you & your loved ones this New Year!
“The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn His face toward you and give you peace.”
